I wanted to share a delicious, easy way to make broccoli that you will actually want to eat!
It's super easy and will give you soft tasty broccoli every time.
I like this brand. I get it at Publix in the frozen section. It comes from Birmingham and has florets, not "stems and pieces". You can use fresh broccoli too, I find it easier to keep in the freezer, then I never HAVE to make it because it's going bad.

Put water into the bottom of your skillet. Just enough to cover the bottom. Add in two tablespoons of butter. Turn your heat to medium then add in your broccoli. I used 1 pound. Leave the heat on medium, cover and cook for 10 minutes-do not stir the broccoli at any point.
After 10 minutes take the lid off, check to make sure you're not out of water. If you are just add in about 1/4 cup. Sprinkle generously with a seasoning salt.Put the lid back on and continue to simmer another 10 minutes-do not stir! Over the next 10 minutes watch the water and test your broccoli with a fork. Once the fork slides in smoothly, then it's ready to eat.
Scoop the broccoli out and serve. By not stirring you have not turned your broccoli to mush. Enjoy!

It is Father's Day today. This morning I surprised Adam with a card and breakfast. He's not technically a dad yet, but only about 13 weeks to go!
I also got to meet my wonderful dad for lunch. I love you dad, and thank you for being so great to us. I've learned a lot from you and can't wait to see you hold your new granddaughter. She has your name for a reason.

And last but certainly not least I have a prayer request. My sweet Grandmother Moon has fallen and broken her hip. We learned early this morning that she was taken to Emory Eastside after she pushed her "button". Apparently she fell about 3am and was not wearing it and had to crawl for 3 long hours until she could knock it off of her night stand with her cane to call for help. My heart is broken that she laid there in pain. But she has gotten help now and will be going in for surgery tonight or in the morning. We're told she's "medium" risk. Please pray that her surgery goes well and we can begin her on the healing process.
